    Registered Psychologist

My name is Dominique and I am a Psychologist who has been working at Crisalida since February 2021 - it has been great to work and be part of such an experienced team of therapists. I completed the 4+2 registration program after finishing my Postgraduate studies in Psychology, gaining some hands-on experience in the field with a variety of clients (both adults and children). During my studies, I became an Applied Behaviour Analysis therapist and really enjoyed working as a therapist on many different teams for approximately 7 years. It was a great eye opener to the world of early intervention and it was great to work with a variety of children on the Autism Spectrum. After becoming a registered Psychologist, I decided I wanted to continue working with children and families as I became passionate about working in this space. Seeing changes over time after working with so many children was extremely rewarding.

I have had experience in counseling with children, adolescents and adults who have gone through life changing experiences which may lead to anxiety, anger, grief and loss and depression. I use a combination of CBT techniques, solution focused therapies as well as some play based interventions when working with some pre-school children. I have experience working with individuals who present with a range of diagnoses such as ADHD, Autism, Intellectual Disabilities and I enjoy being part of the child's external Allied Health teams as well as working with their school/kindergarten staff to help create consistency between environments. More recently, I have had experience in working closely with parents on topics such as behaviour management and checking in on their support circle to help lighten the mental load.
