Mindfulness Meditation Program

Mindfulness is a psychological skill that can assist you in coping with stress, depression, anxiety, and emotionally difficult periods in your life. By learning about the habitual patterns of your mind through mindfulness meditation, you are in a better position to respond to stress in a new way. In turn, you are better able to disentangle from unhelpful thought processes and to ride the waves of unpleasant emotions. Over time, mindfulness skills can help you to feel more balanced emotionally, be less reactive to unpleasant experiences and emotions, and be more discerning in your decision-making.
If you are a parent, your child’s behaviour will sometimes trigger strong emotions like anger, particularly when you’re exhausted, stressed, or running on empty. If you can train yourself to be more mindful of your inner state, your response may be wise and loving at these challenging times.
This 6 week program is a practical skills-based treatment program. Each session entails a brief teaching about mindfulness, practice of different mindfulness techniques; and coaching in a set of psychological skills to complement mindfulness in your everyday life.
This program is delivered by Anne Symons, Clinical Psychologist, who has many years of experience teaching mindfulness skills to clients in private practice and applying it in her own life.
