• Dr Julie Comyn

    B.A., MSc., DClin Psych

    Clinical Psychologist

Julie has recently moved to Melbourne from London where she worked for the past few years, and completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

She has been working with children/adolescents, adults and families for almost ten years. Her experience working in hospitals, and community settings in London means that Julie is experienced and open to working with people from many different cultural backgrounds, nationalities, genders, sexualities, and abilities.

Julie takes an integrative approach to her work, drawing on different models such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Narrative Therapy, to adapt to each client and their needs. She believes that as a clinician she can offer expertise, knowledge and insight, but ultimately each client is the expert of their own lived experience. As a result, Julie adopts a collaborative approach to her work. She prides herself on developing open and trusting relationships with her clients, in which they feel respected, safe, and supported to, together, navigate some of their current challenges.

Julie holds a special interest in working with those with physical health difficulties. Her experience working in hospitals enables her to support children/adolescents, families, parents and adults in managing the challenges that often come when facing, and living with chronic health conditions.
