    Psychologist

    John has been working as a psychologist for over 25 years, living and working in Melbourne, having worked for the Royal Children’s Hospital for 5 years, and more recently with the Australian Childhood Foundation and Headspace.

    He has extensive experience in providing counseling to children, adolescents and adults, from different cultures and gender diversities.

    He is a trauma informed psychologist who is motivated to build the capacity of people to achieve their best outcomes through empowerment. He aims to build a strong therapeutic alliance. John is competent in a variety of treatment modalities, including but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Motivational techniques and Solution Focused Therapy.

    John has also provided support to people with ADHD, Autism, and Intellectual Disabilities, often through the NDIS.

    Areas of experience include providing support to people in the area of depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, social skills development, self-esteem, school refusal and general motivation.

    He has a relaxed and caring manner and views the therapeutic relationship as the key ingredient to successful treatment progress.

    In his spare time, John enjoys spending time walking his dog, with family and friends, and travel.
