    Dr. Rebecca Barnett has worked in a range of settings assisting people with mental health difficulties since 1997. These include roles in the community, public hospital outpatient positions, and private practice. Since registering as a psychologist, she has worked extensively with people experiencing psychotic illness, postnatal depression and other mood disorders, the effects of trauma and sexual assault, and anxiety disorders.

    She remains passionate in her desire to empower people to manage mental health problems, and to move towards fulfilling relationships, and improved health and lifestyles.

    Dr Barnett provides therapy in a safe and supportive manner, assisting clients to manage difficulties such as family issues and relationships, trauma and losses, mental health and difficult decisions.

    Dr Barnett works in private practice with adults experiencing:

    • mood disorders including postnatal depression

    • bipolar disorder

    • anxiety disorders such as panic disorder

    • obsessive compulsive disorder

    • stress management

    • PTSD, trauma and abuse

    • relationship issues

    • adjustment

    • grief and loss

    Dr Barnett uses a range of therapeutic frameworks including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), interpersonal therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
