Katherine McLean

Katherine is very happy to be joining the Crisalida team, specialising in Child and Adolscent Mental Health has been a long term
 aspiration! She has worked in the paediatric field since graduating in 2005, and began her career as sole therapist at a special school for
 children with severe learning difficulties. After two years she spread her wings and headed to the UK where she worked in a variety of
 settings including hospital and community locum positions. This gave her a strong base of knowledge in paediatrics to
 settle into more indepedent, clinic-based work back in Melbourne.

Her strong passion for working with children with Austism Spectrum Disorder has resulted in her participation in professional development courses for sensory integration and behaviour management. She is really looking forward to being part of a team with a range of skills in the creative field, as  well as expanding her knowledge of group work and the powerful role it plays in addressing mental health issues like anxiety.

Katherine is an Accredited Provider of Mental Health Services under the Better Access to Mental Health Medicare Plan, and can provide assessment and treatment for a wide variety of motor and mental health needs. She has strong belief  in the benefits of OT and loves to see children and teens achieve their goals and help them to become confident, happy people.
