• Sarah Rossiter

    Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist

Sarah completed her postgraduate training at Latrobe University in association with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. Her thesis examined the long term impact of childhood brain injury on thinking, social and emotional skills.

She began her clinical career at Eastern Health, working at a range of sites and services over an 8 year period. Sarah specialised in neuropsychological assessments and interventions for older adults and adults in medical and rehabilitation inpatient wards and specialist outpatient programs while providing private practice services for children and young people.

Sarah returned to her paediatric roots and held a senior clinical neuropsychologist role in the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) before heading off on maternity leave.

After returning from maternity leave, Sarah commenced work in the disability sector and for the last 5 years has been working predominantly with Autistic children, young people and adults with co-occurring Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and/or Intellectual Disability or Developmental Delays.

Sarah is also passionate about working with people with a range of abilities including physical, sensory and communication differences.

Sarah provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to help understand individual and neurodivergent thinking skills. This information is used to tailor teaching and learning to meet individual needs, optimise participation and support skills development.

She enjoys working with children and families to understand and address behaviours that challenge and build skills in emotional understanding, expression and regulation.

Sarah aims to provide a fun, interactive and individualised assessment and therapy experience that is neurodiversity affirming. She loves using play based materials in sessions and taking the time to help people feel comfortable and safe to be themselves.

Areas of experience include diagnostic assessment for intellectual disability, specific learning disorders and ADHD, educational assessments, comprehensive neuropsychological assessments, positive behaviour support, emotional regulation, anxiety and anger management and social problem solving.

Sarah also values supporting clients and their families with the journey of understanding and accepting diagnoses and supporting parenting to cater for individual needs.

Sarah has completed training in Neuropsychology, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Positive Behaviour Support.
